The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and leaders from multiple religious groups have launched a national effort — Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence — to mobilize the faith community to support policies to fight gun violence.

The faith community can be a powerful force in reducing the terrible toll of gun violence and making our neighborhoods safer.

Religious leaders have long played a critical role in addressing the nation's social challenges, especially in protecting children and other vulnerable people. Helping to prevent gun violence, which kills and injures 300 people--including 65 children and teens--every day in the United States, is a natural extension of these efforts.

Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence will be a powerful force nationally and will work with local congregations to educate their communities and elected officials on effective public policy measures to reduce death and injury from gunfire.

Is your faith community involved?

The faith community seeks to raise awareness of gun violence as a spiritual and moral crisis. We invite every faithful individual and faith-based group to join us as we work to prevent the tragic toll of gun violence.
